Porn is popular because the ability to immediately view sexual images directly within the home is a new form of freedom available to society, and it is the nature of society to exploit any new freedom to its furthest limits.

Porn is popular for the same reason as junk food, drugs, alcohol, and other forms of addiction. It provides short term gratification at the expense of wasting away our lives.

People are waiting longer and longer to settle down, and in the meantime are being overwhelmed with religiously-motivated messages about the "dangers" of sexual experimentation, health-concious messages about the dangers of promiscuity, and advertising designed to make them feel bad about their bodies and have unrealistic expectations about their partners' bodies
Our culture promotes the idea that women should be perpetually available
Modern technology has given people way too much free time
The Baby Boomers and their predecessors didn't educate their kids enough about human sexuality so those young folk would go out and date and make babies instead of seeking excessive private gratification
People are too afraid of the fall-out that could come from visiting an adult bookstore to purchase porn and being spotted by an aquaintence

Probably because it comes directly to you, in the comfort of home. You don't have to let everyone at the video store etc. that you indulge in such things. It's right there at your fingertips- and for some that is temptation.

Maybe because so many ppl are so horny, and they cant get none at home. So they have be look it up. I dont know why ppl would put themselves on the Internet, but maybe they have boring lives!So maybe thats why..
