Hi, I am a Freemason of a rather esoteric Order, The American Co-Masons. We differ from what you may have been contacting in that we admit women as well as men to all rites and degrees. I can speak of only our Order. I am sure other Masons will feel free to chime in.
I did originally approach the masculine rite Freemasons, much like you did, and never got called back. I have no idea why. I think it was because there were only a few active members and their average age is approaching 70 around here. In a way, I am glad. I wasn't at the time.
When I found out a lawyer friend of mine, a woman, was a Co-Mason I started asking her questions. She put me in touch with the elected head of the Lodge (the Right Worshipful Master). We talked on the phone for hours. Then we exchanged emails. I came up to a Lodge meeting and after it met some of the Brothers (we call even the women members "Brother"). These folks were a diverse group of people but they were friendly, open, and seemly at peace. Not zoned out, but convinced that they were making the world better by making themselves better. I decided to join.
After my application, I had to meet officially with three Master Masons. We had to discuss questions about what my schooling was, whether or not I believed in a Supreme Being, was I tolerant of people of all religions and races, what did I expect to get out of Masonry? The questions were the same in each meeting but each Master Mason put a different spin on them.
It took about two months from the time I applied until I was evidentally ballotted on in open Lodge and accepted. I was initiated as an Entered Apprentice on May 23, 2004 VE. I was passed to Fellowcraft on April 17, 2005 VE. I was Raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on October 22, 2005 VE. This October I hope to take the Mark Degree. Notice, in Co-Masonry we take more time in the degrees than the masculine rites. We do place emphasis on memorization.
We are not a religion, no matter what anyone tries to tell you. And in our case, we are much more than a fraternal philanthropic organization. We do our best to be the heirs to the Ancient Mystery Schools.
If you would like more information, feel free to contact me or click on the link below. No, I do not think you p!ssed anyone off. Sometimes you need to knock louder or on a different door.

Keep in mind that each lodge is different, so it is possible that the particular lodge is not very efficient with its membership program. It took a while for the lodge I joined to get in touch with me (a whole year). More importantly though, most Masonic lodges do not meet in July, August, or September. Because of this, I find it highly unlikely that you would get a phone call until after that.
It is possible, however, that after speaking with you, he did not feel like you were a good candidate. Two things stand out. First is your statement that you plan to be President. Just seems strange to say something like that. Second, and this adds to the first, is the poor grammer and spelling. I won't make fun of you about it, but I think it is fair to say that it is going to be difficult for an uneducated man to become president. You've got an uphill battle ahead of you.
So just from reading your question, a couple of flags were raised in my head, and this may be what happened to you. I don't mean to be insulting, so forgive me if I sounded rude. I'm just trying to speculate as to the reasons for your question.
I do think that you might have a bit of an understand that the concepts of Masonry might help you improve yourself in a way that could help you with your career aspirations. Our members often improve their public speaking ability, leadership skills, and organizational skills. However, we don't teach spelling and grammar. (OK, I had to get that in there. I can't believe you don't know how to use a spell check, but it is just a friendly jab.) :)
Best of luck.
