File a case in court against the relative renouncing his rights as a family member on valid reasons under the law such as commission of crime against a family member, infidelity and others. This will make him not entitled to inheritance and support.

To get over childhood abuse it may be necessary to emotionally renounce your parents. If you try to reconcile and they can't discuss the issues keeping you apart and say things like, it is in the past forget it, they are cowards and don't deserve your respect. This may seem harsh but it sometimes is necessary for emotional survival. Get away from them. You may save yourself but they are doomed to constantly repeat a cycle a pattern of self destructive behavior.

I've never known of a legal procedure. You take them out of wills, you don't sign them to beneficiary papers, maybe leave a note with the executor that they aren't to get a dime. But never anything concrete that they can't fight if they wanted to.
