I sometimes think that ignorance is indeed bliss... but that's only because I sentimentally reminisce the times when so many decisions that have to be made in life were not made yet, and everything was still open and undecided. That's what I think people yearn after when they are getting nostalgic about their youth. As for being wrinkle-free and all that... honestly, I believe I am fitter now than I was back then, because of the things I know. When I was 17, I lived on Coke and chocolate, felt wired all day and had all sorts of health problems. These days, I KNOW what to do to be healthy, and I am. Besides that, I don't entirely agree that you know nothing at age 17, and everything in your 50s. There is so much you forget, so many abilities you lose, such a change of attitude. These days, because I "know" so much, I do so little I would have done in earlier times. I often wish I could go back to a time when there were things to discover yet. And I wish I hadn't discovered some of the ones that I have.

I haven't quite got there yet, I'm still in the 'limbo' of my forties... All I can say is damn I sure hope its worth it because giving up my youth is a pretty high price to pay for all this insight and wisdom, I mean Damn!

Odd, I thought I knew everything at 15, and life itself proved me right all these years later.

Your gefilte joke was hilarious btw.
When I was 17 I did not think I knew everything.
I especially wanted to know more about girls and their bodies.
Actually your question is confusing the way you put it.
