how come sooo many people liked that high school musical movie? what was it about it that was so great?! i watched it literally because there was nothing else on tv that night and before you know it badaboom badabing its a cult classic. i thought it was retarded.

It's actually a really cute movie if you are under 15. My kids know all the songs word for word and drive me nuts all day long. But seriously why are half the movies made today such hits? Half of them are remakes because no one has any imagination anymore and the rest are brain dead self induldgent flicks like Dumb and Dumber or Freddy got Fingered.

It's such a sweet movie and the premise is good. Plus the characters are so funny and relatable, almost as if you're in the high school living it with them. LOVE it.

I have no idea! It's dumb, cheesy, cliche, and so on. My little sister watched it a million times though. Yikes. Maybe it's because the last good Disney musical was Mulan.... the kids are getting desperate. Or maybe that's just my sister... one of her other favorites is Phantom of the Opera...

i thought it was really stupid as well...i agree with you completely...however the main guy character was apparantly a hit with all of the teenage girls that i know of and that was the only reason they watched it in the first place.
