I've recently been having a dream about my ex. We broke up about 9 months ago, and I now live 1100 miles from him. In the dream we walk hand and hand around the lake by my home, and it feels like we are more in love than ever before! The whole dream consists of me and him just walking, talking, and just being in eachothers company, and it just feels like the most peaceful place I could ever want to be and I don't know what it means. I cannot be with him anymore, for reasons that will not be mentioned, but why am I having these dreams now? I haven't seen him or talked to him in 9 months. I have a new love interest now and I really thought I was over the ex, but while I was with him and still to this day believe he was the person I wanted to be with, but I was forced to leave him...Why though after all this time am I thinking about him again? This dream has me wondering if I'm going after the wrong guy now. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks everyone, I do want to get back with him, especially now since I read what everyone wrote, I really thuoght i was over him, but I guess my dreams were telling me otherwise... I just wish that It was possible to get back with him now, but it isn't ... So I will just have to over come this somehow ... thanks for all your comments (the ones where you really understood me) I appreciate it!

We generally dream things that we subconsciously long for/think of/wish for/are bugged about. Looks like you 'thought you were over the ex' but subconsciously you aren't and it sounds to me as if your new relationship is lacking somewhere. Perhaps you didn't give yourself enough time to get over your ex before beginning a new relationship and now you long for the 'old days' because you are subconsciously comparing the two relationships and the two guys.
Personally I think you might be going after the wrong guy, yes.
The first YEAR of a relationship is supposed to be the best, when you first get to know each other... fall in love... flirt with each other and, and, and. If you are longing for another man in your dreams... there's your answer. Wish I knew the reason you can't be together, perhaps I could mention more.

Your feelings in your new relationship have reminded you of the feelings you had for your ex.
It doesn't mean your ex was right for you, or that your new boyfriend is wrong. Maybe you still have some things you have to resolve within yourself, like the reasons you two parted. Maybe you are actually angry about the forced split, and need to recognise this and let go of it, until you can move on and fully be in a relationship with a new person. I expect too, that getting involved with someone again has made you feel fearful because you and your last boyfriend parted. Then this dream is like putting a wall up between you and the new boyfriend, so that you won't get as deeply involved again.

Dreaming of your past relationship could mean a couple of things.
1. There are some unresolved issues or words you didn't say to him or have done yet. Subconscious mind often tells your the hidden thing.
2. You are not over with him yet, and in this case, I don't think you regret or something. However, he may be as replacement as relationship in dream. You still project him in your dream because that is your relationship you remembered the most and that is why you dreaming about him.
To stop dreaming him: you should call him and talk to him, perhaps if you find out if he is with other relationship, you will feel better in your sleep.

It is really normal to dream about ex's - I do it sometimes with mine and it's been nearly 2 years! It does really unsettle you I know, cos it feels so real - but it might not mean anything significant - just reliving a memory.
you could take the opportunity to assess whether you do genuinely miss him though - e.g. were you thinking about him before the dream? Are you happy with your new man? If no to the first and yes to the second then I really wouldn't worry.
Dreams always mess with us - our minds can be so sly sometimes!

You are just working things out in your dreams. You probably would love to be back in a stable relationship. I have dreams about random made-up people usually :-) Don't worry about going after the wrong guy, it will work itself out. Also you might want to talk to the Ex to make sure you don't have any unresolved issues!

it was most likely your first love and wiht that your asperations on what that would be like so u put yuor self in dream land and have apretty dream about your past who was most likely your soulmate to have such a vivd deam aslo nice dream it was in color i read that part which is a good sign also becuase your starting somthing new u have doubts of it being up to yuor expectations of what love is so have no expectations and the relationship meaning if it works good but dont knock yuorself out looking for that lake gypsy boy dreamscaper

The lake probably symbolises your inner most desires that you aren't willing to face in real life so i think you're dream just means that you are pining for what you have lost as you saw the potential for it to be something great (the warm fuzzy feeling), more than likely it just means that you need to find closure.
So basically you aren't fully over this relationship but you need to realise it wasn't as good as you remember it and accept that it is over. That is all your subconcious is trying to do (find closure).

unresolved issues u need sort out an issue unresolved with him this dream does not mean ye will get back together it just means to move forward u let go of the past an there is an issue or maybe a child or somithing unresolved. u need to sort it out an i wouldnt move on with another guy untill i completely finished an was happy in myself first

I believe that loves do not finish just because you let to see a people, although you do not see him for a broke.
In your mind must have such a kind of remorse to be Happy now.
Try do not pay attention for dreams, the people lives waked up.
