A rat is a rodent. They are very intelligent, need alot of socialization and can escape from about anything. They need daily attention otherwise they will take off and good luck finding them.

Most living,and breathing life forms (on this planet) are called animals. So the rat is an animal. After defining the rat as animal. He would be classified as a Rodent..If I may as a Snake you probably should also be viewing the Rat as lunch.

Because they are rodents that carry diseases. They are dirty, wild etc. These are the ones that come from the yard, in garages, in homes sometimes.
You must be getting something different from the store if it is being bought.
