I worked from the time I was 12. Looking back, I wish I would have just enjoyed it; however, I also know my parents didn't have much money and that I had to work to be able to buy my own clothes and stuff.
If you don't have to work, don't. If you have to, try cutting lawns (which is what I did) or perhaps work at the local country club as a golf caddy or something. This will give you a chance to meet and know some of the more important people in your area which may help you in a few years.

Where you from Hun, Mountain View, or work, you gotta make up your mind ! I love the mountains too, try a car wash operation, go around, get 4 or 5 locations lined up, usually you can get donated free water, hire some student / classmates to run your 4 or 5 locations on commission. Talk to a local one location operator about cleaning / detail products, get your locations set up, go around pick up your profits every afternoon.
Try the local country clubs for locations, wash cars while members play golf, our guys wash 15 to 20 cars a day, $20 a car.
Bikinis don't hurt if you have some girlfriends, flag down a car, get a commission !

OK I saw some great answers here
BUT Samantha Miller, where do you get off telling this kid to ask her parents nicely? Did you stop to think that maybe her parents want her to learn responsibility? Kids do not all have MONEY BUCKETS for parents and MONEY does not grow on trees.
Yes babysitting unless you do not have Patience. Animal care and house care while people are at work is a great job!
Maybe at a local animal shelter or church to baby sit?
PLEASE be safe when asking people you do not know for jobs, there are all kinds of trouble with that.
BUt be safe! use common sense.
Some great ideas here.
GOOD FOR YOU!
