What's going on there is a very scary thing that could involve us at some point.
I know that as an adult myself, I find myself watching the news more and more too.
There are just so many different things going on right now, he's probably just like so many more of us, worried about what will happen.
Don't let it bother you, just let him watch and listen all he wants. The information he learns may come in handy some day.
I won't even watch the news with my grand daughter here because it's all just too depressing, and I don't want her to hear any of it. ( and I'm obsessed with it too.) I have to get on the internet to find out what all is going on.
Be patient with him, he's just concerned.

Heres a clue, what happens over there affects over here. Your dad is obsessed with it for a lot of reasons. One being that America could be brought into this war at any point in time for any number of reasons. That means at war with countries who do not like Americans and now have weapons that can reach us. Also this is causing the price of gas to go up which you probably do not understand yet because you probably do not buy gas. Not to mention that knowledge is power, when you know whats going on you know how to react and when to. For example, do you think there would have been so many deaths in New Orleans from the Hurricane if people had watched the news themselves to see what was coming at them. No, they wouldnt have fallen asleep at night thinking they were just going to get a little rain they would have seen they there was trouble coming and gotten the hell out of there. You need to know whats going on. I know it gets frustrating my husband makes me nuts with it but in the end it is very important.

Let him watch it by himself. Let him know that it is bad for his blood pressure and his digestion to get too involved. Also, there are always wars or bloodshed somewhere. This just more of the same.

watch it with him cause u need to figure out whats happining to the world so u can be safe or save and buy ur own tv or ask u mother or watch another tv

Go tell your mother! No seriously, go tell your mother! NO, NO , I mean maybe you should listen to what your dad has to say and talk to him about the situation and then when he runs out of stuff to talk about, go tell your mother!
