The chicken, and he spent the whole of the rest of the night apologising and saying it had never happened to him before!

Yes.... I hate that question. Well because of the evolution theory, I'm going to have to say the chicken came first. Since living things evolve, I think that something evolved into the chicken which eventually laid an egg which means that the egg came second. Well, what do I know, I'm only 13. ><

Well... I guess that depends on the egg in question. Since science believes that some dinosaurs did in fact lay eggs, and if in fact dinosaurs existed before the chicken we know that the egg must have come first since there were eggs before chickens in this senario and therefore the chicken could not have possibly invented the egg. However if it is only a chicken's egg that is in question then my answer is the Chicken was created first. :-)

hey, you didn't have to waste 5 points. This question has been asked a hundred times before... in fact, this is the second time it's been asked just today that I've seen...
anyways, the chicken came first and I can prove it... if the egg came first, what sat on the egg to make it hatch?

The Egg, this is why,....In order for Darwin to be correct, animals adapted to their environment by evolving. Eggs have always been laid. The chicken simply is a result of another evolving creature, so when it hatched, it was a chicken, not a snake, so to speak.

I had eggs for breakfast and chicken for dinner. So the egg came first.

Neither came first. This question, if one thinks hard enough, leads us to evolution. All life on this planet came from single celled organisms which split into more single celled organisms, and over time became multicelled organisms. Eventually, over billions of years of evolution, we get the chicken and the egg.
