One of the really great things about being human is that we have the ability to deal with the present, reconcile and learn from the past, and prepare for the future. We are not stuck only in the here and now, like the lower animals. Cats, dogs, cows, snd fish all live in the present and never contemplate past success or failure. Nor do they ponder future events and develop cogent plans. Some appear to plan, as in coordinated hunting, but this is instinctive behavior and not true cognitive forethought. I'm glad I have the ability to do both.

I am definitely a future dweller. I learn from the past, but I never walk back into it because I can't change anything about it. I don't live in the here and now because I know that my behaviors have consequences I will probably have to face. I know tommorow isn't promised, but the odds of me dying or having my life radically altered before then are slim. I live in the future because I know it's coming. Time is merciless, it stops for no one.

I like living now, because this is the time I was meant to live in. But I live today, for the future. I love this question and I wish I could write everything I want to, but that'd take up too much time and space, so I won't.

I prefer the present. Who knows if the world will be inhabitable in the future?
