Denzel Washington; I have never seen an actor that can actually live the parts he plays. In Glory, he gave the entire movie a boost. Even movie goers in the deep south enjoyed his role.
Not only is he my favorite black actor, he is in the top three of my favorites. John Wayne and Clint Eastwood are the other two.

A lot of good choices already listed.....but i will vote in favour of James Earl Jones. Because he is a great actor in all senses. He can do more with just his voice - his extraordinary voice - than most actors can do, *period*. I never get tired of hearing him.....and, thankfully, Hollywood keeps finding new things for him to do and say.

James Earl Jones is my favorite. I love just to hear him talk. He has done many wonderful movies and he was the voice of Darth Vader..... Have liked him since I was a kid

Denzel Washington, he can play almost any roll well.
Also love Samuel L Jackson. But Denzel tops it for me I think.
