I am having trouble locating cobol programming jobs in the Sacramento, Ca metro area. I have hit the main websties Monster etc suggestions of any other web based or local agenies would be appreciated.

Look back in 1998. If that's a problem you might want to think about learning a modern programming language like C++, Java, or VB. Sorry to be harsh, but I just dont see people using COBOL any more. Good luck!

Really no one uses COBOL anymore. I'd assume there are only a few very old systems that need compatibility upgraders... to newer languages and systems.

The only job in COBOL you will find is fixing or upgrading old code.

Why not update to a modern programming language.
It's hard to find a job making buggy whips too!
