That is a distinct possiblity. The natural progression of a normal prengnancy on ultrasound scan is the appearance of a gestational sac, followed by the yolk sac, then the embryonic pole and then the heart activity. So if you have had a scan very early on, there is only the gestational sac without the baby ( or babies in your case).

I once went for a scan and showed an empty sack.. Lol and im a guy so plz don't feel sorry for ureself cos this is serious for me

Oh jeez! With my first son, I had an early ultrasound at 6 weeks and they saw an empty sac with no fetal pole. I went back a week later and he was there, but there was only one of him, thank God! :)
