It's not bad, it's a MYTH! Take a cold shower if you like. There is no relationship on the temperature of the water and effects on your period.

However, the warm temperature may relieve a lot of the pain associated with periods, but it's not "bad" or "unhealthy" to get a cold shower.

Well I can just tell you what I've always heard and It happens to me. But different ppl have different periods. When I take a cold shower it seems to worsen my cramps rather than subside them. But the best thing I've found that works is getting in a warm bath or putting a heating pad on my tummy. But anyways I hope you find comfort because I know from expierence that they are no fun any way you look at them. Bye

The times I took cold showers while I was on my period I got irritating cramps afterwards it might not happen to others but it does happen to me...It's not fun I prefer warm showers they relieve my cramps and it relaxes me and my muscles...Hot chamomile tea helps too
I've read online that cold showers causes your muscles to contract which makes cramps worse and warm showers alleviates your cramps because it relaxes the muscles
I prefer warm showers I don't really like cold showers anyways...

Where did you hear that myth? If you believe that one, then you will believe that you can't swim while on your period. These MYTHS are just that, myths/old wives tales.

Taking a cool shower won't harm you at all while having your period. But a warmer one might help the cramps.

no...but it might be more comfortable for your cramps if you take a warm shower as the warmth from the shower may help them to subside.
