Do we really need Republicans and Democrats? Couldn't one party help guide America? I believe this country is split because our political system is split. The only concern would be the (left? or right?) and (liberal or conservative). Though I would like to know more about the left or the right, liberal or conservative.

This is actually a interesting question. I can answer now and say we need it for racial division, but that wouldn't be fair. I guess it would be to each its own. One while individual may have Democratic views and then the next four years that same individual may have Republican views. I honestly don't see the point of having two parties. Especially when all the votes are counted together. It really don't matter if you go to the poll as a democrate, you still can vote for every last Republican if you choose to. So, why again do we need two parties? Maybe so Society can socially class (or) divide us. Again division.

ITS ONLY A WAY TO SEPARATE US SOCIALLY .

The two party system in the US evolved as the usual fight during elections but there need not be any party or three parties as long as the candidates are supported by the party. Independents can even defeat the bickering Democrats and Republicans if they do not have good candidates.

,I agree, there should only be one party. As you cannot tell the Democrats from the Republicans. The both our out to pad their large bank accounts. Oil , peanuts, whats the difference they both went up in price because of the president that was in office. And any way we all live under a dictatorship, so whats the difference if there are two parties or a half of dozen?

So the public can easily categorize politician. People of the same political party tend to have similar views on certain bills and other issues. This way, people can have a basic idea of what to expect from politicians.

I'm thinking we may need a least one more party. For the far left wing nuts who have taken the Democrat party hostage.

theres more then two political parties the other dont get wide spread votes because they only are on a one view basis. thats why you rarely hear about them. also because they usualy have less money than the two bigger partys.

Of course we do!

It's the opposition of two or more philosophies, that allow the debates, checks and balances.

As much as I hate to admit it... Democrats are GOOD for something! (albeit, seeing how unenlightened people think)
