That depends on the level of his technical knowledge. The easiest solution is to one, backup your files and two, reinstall Windows using your restore CDs.

The other option is to hope the spyware scanners find it:

Adaware SE Personal
Spybot S&D
Windows Defender

I can't make any guarantees as to if they will find it or not because it sounds like he has installed a keylogger and if he installed a good one, it is a hidden system process and not even the most thorough scan will find it. If it's a good one, it won't shop up in task manager or add/remove programs. If you want to make absolutely sure there is nothing on the system, my original idea stands, backup your files, format and reinstall Windows XP, it's the only way to be really sure. Then create yourself a password for your account. Of course, if he's a real techie then he'll find a way around that. So, there are other encryption options if you want to keep him off your PC. I forget the name of it but you can encrypt your whole hard drive with USB device authentication. You'd use a flash drive to hold the password and decryption authorization, the USB drive would have to be inserted into the computer for it to boot, no way around it, no flash drive, no booting, period. I can track it down and if you want that, I can point you to it, feel free to contact me.

I used to recommend Adaware, then it was Spyware Nuker (I still love the guys that wrote that software), but today, I can't recommend anything other that Microsoft Windows Defender.

Microsoft released this software about a year ago and called it the Anti-Spyware Beta. It has recently changed names to Windows Defender. It's free, although I've heard rumors that they might start charging for it at some point.

You can download it here...

It's in it's 2nd beta and is rock solid stable. It works very well. I haven't had a spyware infection problem since I've been running it.

You could also try here. One of my Spyware Article Sites...

I assume you already have have a spyware detector, ala Spybot and Ad-Aware. Nowadays those things are pretty much mandatory.

Sounds to me like what the dude is doing, is he is pulling up your History. To defeat him, follow this path,Tools, Internet Options, History. DELETE. All gone...unless he has some program on your computer to undelete...if there is any such thing...but then you would know if he does or not by visiting your program files.

Sheesh. He sounds like he needs deleting. Are you quite sure you need this particular model of BF????

Look in the Program Files for anything that looks strange and search it on google to see what it is.

He may just be looking at your HISTORY.

Go to tools, internet options and delete the history files. -clear history-That way he can't see what websites you have gone to throughout the day.

Also make sure you don't have RECENT DOCUMENTS on your start menu. Go to start menu and right click for properties. Go to customize and advanced and then click off My Documents "don't display this item".

Sounds to me like you need to delete the bf and the software. Have it professionally restored, sell it, get a new pc rewarding yourself for kicking his freak a$$ to the curb.

Need to use Spybot: Search and Destroy, Lavasoft Ad-aware, Windows Defender, to scan your system. Also a good virus scanner such as AVG.

hi, i recommand you to use firefox.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

firefox can edit which site/popup to block and unblock.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

download firefox for free:
