The ONLY option, which you already know, is D. And then I would drop to my knees and pray that they don't turn it into the insurance company but rather let you pay for the car for the rest of your sorry life.

So before you contemplate and decide this is a great attention getter, you should know taht joy riding without permission is consider theft and most insurance companies will require that the police be notified before they will cover a claim. Once the police are notified, the offender gets arrested becasue it is a crime.

So grow up!

When I was about 12 or so my friends and I used to take my grandparent's cars out joyriding when no one was home. We would replace the gas and we were positive nothing bad would ever happen.

Well....one day while my grandparents were on vacation in Europe, I took their BRAND NEW car out for a drive. They had just picked it up from the dealership 2 days before they left so they had never really even used it.

I was turning into the driveway, my friend was in the passenger seat. We had been out for a while and when I looked in the driveway...THERE WAS MY STEP FATHER'S CAR! I freaked out of course and since I had come the back way instead of having to make a right turn into the driveway, I had to make a left turn across a lane. Since I was too young and stupid to know how to handle the situation, I did not look first, there was a girl coming up the hill on a motorcycle ( I still remember her name but I won't say it here) she crashed into the car but it was totally my fault. I was still so freaked out that I did not stop!!! I could have killed her but luckily she was fine. Not the car or the motorcyle though!

The car was totally messed up on the front passenger side and the bike was damn near totalled.

Of course the cops were called. I was terrified so I locked myself in the bathroom. I remember the cops pounding on the door, my stepfather saying he was letting them take me to jail. It was awful!!!

All that happened to me legally was a fifty dollar fine. The cops said that they could have made me pay well over $2,000 and made it so I could not get a drivers license until I was 18 but since my mother had come home and told them about my grandparents they decided that having to tell them would be far worse than anything they could do. They were right!

The mailbox is in the garage and a couple of days later I was out there getting the mail, my grandma had sent me a post card ( I still have it) that said they were having a great time shopping for ME and they could not wait to come home cause they missed me. They also asked if I was keeping an eye on their new car!!!!

I am 38 now, that was 26 years ago and I still remember going to the airport with my mom in their OLD car. They asked mom why she had not brought the new one. She said she did not think it was a good idea for anyone else to drive it.

I will never forget having to walk out in the garage and show them the car. Of course they wanted to give me my gifts before they would let me show them whatever it was I had to show them. It was awful. I have never felt worse in my life.

I gotta say...JUST DON'T DRIVE THE CAR!!!!

D. It'd be the hardest...but...its the only one that'd clear your conscience and not make it worse...suicide is just like running away and running away doesn't help which eliminates A & B - that'd just hurt your parents anyway.

C - you could get away with it but maybe not...anyhow...the problem with that is knowing it's a lie and living with that and probably looking over your shoulder hoping the facts won't come out in the wash (it'd be worse to own up after lying!)

D...it'd suck, but that'd be best...at least you'd have a clean conscience and they'd respect your honesty...

D) Honesty is the best policy.

I bet it happen to a "friend" of yours and your trying to tell him/her what to do.

As long as you didn't cause bodily harm to other or yourself, they will be glad your OK, but after a few days, their wrath will come down, it may seem harsh for a while, but remember this, you crippled their ability to get to work and do the things they need to do to take care of you, and the rest of your family, and also put an additional serious burden on them financially on top of what they are already responsible for and they will not let you forget that, and you will probably be grounded for a long time.

B: be honest and except full responsibility.

You wouldn't be the first teenager to wreck the family car. And believe me, after the anger, they still love you and are just happy that you are alive to tell them you wrecked the car.

D. of course. Face it, they know you did it.

C. just means you're lying and aren't mature enough to own up to your mistakes and they still know you did it. It just makes you look bad.

B. Come on, it's just a car. It can be fixed or replaced, you can't.

A. If you're capable enough to go out and live on your own you should be capable enough to admit the mistake.

D...if you do anything else they'd somehow find out and you'd be in twice the trouble. You'll probably find that your mom is more grateful for you to be alive then pissed off about her car.
