Global dependency on finite energy resources. As nations industrialize they currently need to go through the archane technology of oil based machinery to produce to the same standard of living that post-indsutrial nations have achieved. This creates political gluts of power, conflict, and global instability. Its use also increases global temperatures, decreasing the available food supply for a growing population which further perpetuates conflicts and general global instability.
