There is actually a part of Long Beach (Near LA Harbor) that is sinking about an inch per year, but earthquakes are not the cause. Supposedly, an awful lot of oil was pumped out of the ground between 1940 and 1980, hence the subsiding. The former Naval Station at Long Beach built walls around the piers and along the quaywall to prevent flooding.

It is not sinking but rising! Due to the heat created from all of the stars living in the Hollywood area the ground has been expanding due to the heat. So LA is not sinking but rising, and may some day become Mt. LA

It is not just L.A but the whole state of California is in the path of danger. It has been proven scientifically that its is going to all go but it cannot be determined when. There are alot of other places that live in fear of destruction not only California. The planet earth is big ball of mystery even yet...
