Personally, I would choose my dreams. I am a peaceful calm man, but I have a lot of dreams that unsettle, confuse or scare the hell out of me. I sometimes dreams whole conversations, long scenarios and it's always in color, so they are interesting. But I think I could choose more interesting and more comfortable dreams than the random number generator in my brain. How about you?

You should seriously look into lucid dreaming. This is basically the practice of consciously controlling your dreams. It's scientifically possible, and many people have perfected it to the extent that they can control three or four dreams per night. One of the greatest benefitis of lucid dreaming is the realization that what we perceive to be real is created from within. You begin to overcome the mental barrier that says that you can or cannot do certain things because they defy scientific laws. In your mind, anything is possible, because you are the one creating everything in your dreams.

By the method of autosuggestion (just repeating a phrase and focusing on some visual imagery while in bed before you fall asleep), you can also incubate dreams, or affect the topic of your dreams without necessarily being lucid. There's a lot of things that I want to try with lucid dreaming, mainly meditation and some actions that are physically impossible in real life. I would also try to bring about some of those confusing, unsettling situations that you speak of and deal with them in a controlled environment where I can practice responding to them without there being any lasting effect in real life. Dreams are wonderful.

Yes, that would be sooooooooooooo great- I would love to have dreams with my father, since he is no longer among the living - it would be great to see him - if only in my dreams. I would dream of a time long ago when I was young and in love for the first time - of the first kiss, the first inimate momments and everything that followed. And lastly, I would dream of the next lotto number :-)

I would definitely choose what to dream. I would dream situations that need solutions that might be worked out during my dream state. I would also choose to dream about wonderful things that really happened to me so I could relive them.

I'd keep my dreams the same other than I'd have some thing that would interpret them better than some of the books out there these days

I would choose my dreams, I'd make them the types of dreams that you don't wake up at during the best part. UGH that bugs me.
