Isn't that annoying...everyone tell you you'll know when your labor starts? I used to get SO frustrated when I'd hear that. But you know what...you WILL know. I'm sure you've been having Braxton Hicks contractions...probably last 20 seconds or so, not painful, right? Imagine that (tightening of your uterus) only it lasts longer (45 secs to 1 minute) and feels like you have very bad menstrual cramps.

With my first son, I was scheduled to be induced. When I got to the hospital I was already 3 cm dilated, so they skipped the inducing drugs and just broke my water. My contractions came on hard and fast and to me, felt like the absolute WORST menstrual cramps you have ever had, multiplied by about 100. That was all across my upper abdomen. In my lower abdomen, the cramps felt like diarrhea cramps that you have when you have the stomach flu or food poisoning. I was crying through my contractions they hurt so bad.

They broke my water for me, so I think that's why mine hurt so bad right up front. If your water hasn't broken yet, maybe that's why yours are milder? Period cramps and hard uterus sound like contractions to me. You're supposed to time them...they should last the same duration (real contractions last about a minute) and be five minutes apart before you go to the hospital. In other words, you have a contraction at exactly midnight. It lasts until 12:01 a.m., you relax, then another one starts at 12:05 a.m.

The early indicators of work are quite distinctive for distinctive females and that's why you listen such a lot of distinctive matters. Usually exertions starts with a again pain. But so much pregnant females have again aches everyday so they don't suspect 'exertions' in the beginning. Then the stomach begins to agreement and you can also think such as you ought to do #two, however cannot. Eventually those tummy pains (which don't seem to be very dangerous) will begin to return and move at roughly constant periods. This is while so much moms-to-be become aware of that this can be 'it'. You spend the following couple of hours (commonly) timing the rigors till they both quit or come to be very constant, probably 10 mins aside. At a few factor in right here your water would possibly holiday or it would possibly not. If it does you now not must fear approximately whether or not that is the truly factor....IT IS - GO TO THE HOSPITAL. But although your water does not holiday (mine didn't till I used to be already on the medical institution with each my infants), by the point your pains are five mins aside and really constant you are going to recognise it's time to begin matters relocating alongside and enforce THE PLAN. Good good fortune and God bless.

first off all, at leat 1-2 weeks before your baby is due stay somewhere slose to the hospital, I have never had a baby, )I am only fourteen, sorry for answering you question) but I read in some magazine when I was bored about a couple who live about 45 minutes from the hospital and she was stating so many comments that I do not even want to post, the docter told them that they NEEDED to stay at a place near by so they could get her there faster. I think her family did not have a good past with baby birth or something, but if you are going to get any medicine to stop the pain in you want to get there faster than an hour, just so they an put as much as they need to in and get the stuff to start working before the real part comes.

I do not mean to freak you if I di I am sorry, I used to know someone who delivered baby's to, so I know alot about it.

you can go to your local book store or an hour away...lol...and purchase a book about baby's or birth they have a lot of good stuff you can learn about baby's and birth.

another thing you can do is call your docter and ask him if he knows anything, or aska relative that has given birth.

also this is an idea for a name, Gabrielle or Greelli(a) different pronountiations, it means ""God is my strentgh" it is beautiful I think.

hope I helped,Brooke

for me it was really bad lower back pains and no matter how i sat or layed or moved it wouldn't help me. when i first went to the doctor they said to go home and wait so i went home and about 9 hours later i came back and 3 hours later i had my son. are you with your husband or a support person right now. have them call your doctor or nurse and talk to them, but chances are that you will make it their in time. im assuming this is your first child? then labor could take quite a while so haveing a baby within a couple of hours is unrealistic, but yet posible. so call your doctor and tell them exactly how you feel. the feeling of having to take a **** is when you are having the baby, not labor. good luck and keep us(me) informed. i want to know when you have that baby.

p.s. i've only had one child. i was delivered when i was 41 weeks preg. my stomach was hard for the last 2 weeks.

goodluck

time the contractions.if they come and go with no consistency then it could be a false alarm.but if they come closer together and start to get stronger it could be labor.call your Dr and tell him/her whats going on.but a big thing is the time between the contractions.also if your water breaks then get to the hospital.but being an hour away make sure you get there as soon as you can if its the real deal.my water never broke with either of my baby's so i never really knew if i was really in labor or if it was a false alarm.my first i was way early the send i went over and was induced.if the pain gets unbearable get to the hospital.and i would call you Dr right away to make sure and see what he/she wants you to do.

Congratulations!!!!!!! My experience tells me that you very well may be in labor. You should time your pains to see if they become regular. Your tummy becoming tight is an indication that you are having contractions. Your contractions must be regular in order for you to dilate and deliver your baby. So, time them and if they become 10 mins. or closer, go to the hospital. If you are afraid that you will not make it, call the Dr. If your water breaks, Leave immediately. Good luck and God bless.

yeah, that sounds like labour!!! are you feeling it in your back too? Is every position you sit in uncomfortable? It does start out like period cramps and progress...and the contractions should be exact in time and length between each contraction. Id leave home when they are about 5 minutes apart.

honey you need to leave for the doctor now. labor is different for everyone but thats what it sounds like to me cause you are so close. and even if it turns out to be false youll feel better knowing if it was real and you waited to long you could have had the baby at home. good luck!

Contractions will come and go. The contractions will be stronger and last longer. You will know...I suggest keeping track of how long in between contractions and the duration(how long they last)
