I had a UTI last year. I never want one again! Anyway, my doctor told me to be sure to:

urinate before and soon after sex
urinate as soon as I get the urge during the day and night
keep the vaginal area as clean as I can

She also suggested using cranberry juice or pills, which can help to prevent the bacteria that causes the UTIs to grow, but it's NOT a cure. Only prescribed antibiotics can cure it. If you are prone to UTIs, then yuou need to speak to your doctor about what you can do to help prevent them.

firstly, you don't 'drink' antibiotics - they are medications that can only be prescribed to you by a doctor to treat an infection. I think what you're possibly thinking of is cranberry juice - which has properties to it that make hard for bacteria to cling to the lining of your bladder - and if used frequently can help prevent a UTI...there's also a pill-form supplement of cranberry that some women take on a daily basis. If you're prone to UTI's this would be something to consider! another thing that may help: urinating before and soon after intercourse.
