A true conservative is for less government involvement in peoples lives , fiscal responsibility with less government spending and keeping the constitution as is. Roughly 30% of your Republicans are aware of what a true conservative is.

That is actually a ver good question. A true conservative would be against the Marriage Amendment because it is nothing more than more Governmental involvement. They should also be against it because it would cause the Constitution to be amended--another no no for a true Conservative. They are also for smaller government yet they supported the idea for the Department of Homeland Security.

Maybe more of them should get an education!

I believe that a conservative should be fiscally conservative (i.e. no deficit spending on war), support the improvement of society through capitalism rather than government programs, and facilitate a population that strives for self government.

90%, just like most dems know what a lib is. mostly, they just dont know anything about and misconsrue info on each other. conservatives are traditionalists who fear change cuz they see no rationale for it. they think there are sound reasons to keep things the same, like seeing unborns as human lives and not wanting to see the benefit of using stem cell to promote medicine.

The % of Republicans that know why they are Republican is higher than the % of Democrats that know why they're Democrat. I never hear from anyone why anyone should vote FOR Democrats but only why to vote AGAINST Republicans. I think most people that are Democrats or vote for Democrats hear someone say, "Democrats are for helping people". Then they think to themselves, "Well, gee. I want to help people. I just vote Democrat."
