A house is on fire, Inside and beside eachother are 2 people both to old to walk them selves and sitting in wheelchairs.
person 1 is a Professor that you know recently discovered a formula which is the answer to healing AIDS. Person 2 is your grandfather.
You only have strength and time enough to save one of them.

Which one do you save? grandfather? or for the greater good the professor, thus saving millions of people from death?

and why would you do that?

My Grandfather. No question.

Why? Because he is my hero. He saved me from so much. Besides...even if I tried there would be no way I could leave my Grandfather to die while I saved a stranger. No matter what that stranger could do for humanity.

Now...my Grandfather would probably tell me to save the Professer and leave him there. But that would be a physical impossibility, I could not do it. It would be like trying to hold your breath underwater until you died, can't be done.

Besides, wouldn't you think that if this Professer were really that brilliant and wonderful he would have made sure his formula could be manufactured and distributed in the event of his demise? Now THERE is the true question of humanity...is the Professer's Ego greater than his desire to cure AIDS?

Well I don't think I would stop trying until I could save them both. But, the professor seems to be so concerned for others that he would want you to save your grandfather.

My grand father i dont know the other man and theres no connection to him. Sad but thos people will have to take their course. If the other made a formula something like would not be public if there weren't documents confirming such a thing. So other Professors could create and distribute based of the documents

You will never know the answer for sure to that unless you are outside that house. I was outside my house last week and it was on fire. My family were outside safe and there wasnt one thing in that house that was worth letting them run back in for.

I think you would save your Grandfather and probably die in the attempt to save the other man. Family love is strong, simple as that. Its the way we are made so that we will take care of handing on the genes, I think.

Grab the "Lap Blanket" off of Grand Pa, pull him & the professor out of their chairs onto it and pull them both out of the building. That is how criticlly ill patients are evcuated from burning hospitals. Can be done in the blink of an eye because that is all of the time you will have.
