According to some people on here, President Bush is behind everything from President Kennedy's assassination to the weather! So I'm sure you'll get a lot answers telling you yes, he is also responsible for blackouts in America!

No. The blackouts are from the heat wave most areas are experiencing. As the temps go way up or way down more people are using more electricity to cool or heat their homes and this spike in demand is what cause blackouts and/or brownouts (where sections of the power grid are shut down for a certain period then brought back on line and another section is shut down and so on). There is no conspiracy to make people suffer it is simply supply not keeping up with demand

In some people's minds, the president is supposed to preform magic. Some even claimed that the hurricanes of last year was because of something he did or failed to do.
The president is only one person trying to do a million jobs. Senseless people criticize the president, whoever he is.
The same people who do all the bitching when the president is in office, are the ones who claim he was one of the best, once he's out.

You're joking, right? No, of course not. Each area is on its own power grid. He doesn't have anything to do with it. The problem is in the delivery of the power. When the weather heats up, people use more air conditioning. The transformers need time to cool down. If the heat never subsides, the transformers never cool down, causing them to blow. Our power system is somewhat antiquated. Since every power grid is different, I can't possible explain about each one of them. But I do know this: we need more transformers, more substations, and more power plants to prevent this from happening. But how are you going to convince that to a bunch of crazy environmentalists? I guess we're all supposed to live in tee pees.

No, this isn't the first time the country has had blackouts. Calif. had them because of the governor at the time- Gray- He sold alot of electricity to outside interests and then didn't have enough for Calif. residents.
It has to do with the state utilities and state governments, not the federal government..

When In Doubt, Blame Bush

2006-07-27 14:01:17 · answer #7 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

No he is not directly responsible for that. There is a high demand for electricity because of the heat and the large number of users. There is just not enough generating plants to keep up with the demand.

No, The heat is responsible. The heat index is reaching all time highs and that means more energy is being consumed. Our house keeps having power failure.
