A bad sign of what? Being an alcoholic?
Many normal and responsible people have a drink or two (or maybe three!) before going out on a date. So, a social drinker who is sipping vodka out of a cup at home before a date isn't out of the ordinary.
However, if your date is plastered before the date is even half an hour old, I'd say that's a bad sign your date is not for you if you find getting plastered before a date is even half an hour old unhealthy.
I guess it all depends on what you are or aren't looking for in a partner.

the sippy cup would be more concerning to me than the vodka but hen again she could be avoiding being a sloppy drunk. how conscientious on her part.
