It depends quite a bit on where you go and what you're being seen for, but I'd estimate between $50 and $200 for the visit, plus extra for any tests they do or medications they prescribe. The best way to find out for sure is to call the doctor's office nearest you and simply ask them what they charge for an appointment.

I'm not for sure, but some doctors are a "providing doctor" for insurance companies so they have to write off a certain amount after the insurance has paid and you have paid your copay. I can't imagine a difference in the cost of a service if you have insurance or if you don't. That might be a HIPPA violation. Not for sure though.

I think my chiropractor charges paients who don't have ins. about half what a person with ins. has. If you're seeing an MD there could be an office fee of about $50 just to walk in plus other costs, so I would telephone the doctor's office and ask first.

In-community are docs who've agreed to decide your coverage and your co-pay based on the coverage business enterprise's value schedule - out-of-community are docs who're not registered with your coverage business enterprise as companies.

the fees are usually higher than with no insurance, they charge people more than they even charge the insurance company...the insurance co. will not pay too much, so, i think we should do something about this too! why be charged more just because u don't have coverage?

Actually, we try to bill the least amount possible for the patient's without insurance.. not more.
There are certain things that are standardly billed like X-Rays.... and shots..
But then there are others that are billed just for cost like casts...etc...

if you have group coverage, some dr's give big discounts for stuff because of volume. kind of like a Walmart 12 pack of coke for 1.99 vs a 24 pack for 3.00.
