I don't think it's that big of a deal. If you enjoy doing something you shouldn't give it up. Sometimes you skills with a certain hobby build over time, you just have to keep trying. And who cares what someone else thinks of what you do...the only person that should care is you!

Very simple Jmann, do not need to worry about whether you are good at it or not. What more important is to really enjoy doing it. And if you really enjoy doing it, most likely you will be good at it in time to come. It takes years for someone to be an expert in his field. So continue doing and one day you will be the expert. Gd luck!

If you enjoy doing something, you get a lot of satisfaction from it. It will be relaxing and have an "escapism" quality. You don't have to be good at it UNLESS you put what other people think ahead of your own joy. I say keep at it. I enjoy painting, but have no real talent. I just have a good, patient teacher who is encouraging because she knows that art adds to the quality of many peoples lives. Good luck!

I don't think so as long as you enjoy it you should continue doing it. For example I like to sing, however, I suck at it. I continue it though, because I think that if I stopped it would be like a part of me was missing, and I would be sad that I didn't sing anymore. So I definitly think that its not important to be good at something as long as you enjoy it!

It does not matter if you are good at it. The more you do it the better you will become. You have an even greater chance of becoming great at anything that you set your mind to do, especially when you enjoy doing it to begin with.
Never give up. If you fail, you must try, try again.

Hobbies have other values like helping unwind. Relaxation and letting you mind operate on a different path are not commercially profitable, but those who work only on the one or two things they're good at soon grow stagnant minded and actually become less productive at work. If you enjoy it, do it anyway, and don't worry about if you're good at it.

If you're doing it purely for your own enjoyment then by all means keep doing it. If you're trying to make a career of it I'd give it a year. If you still haven't been paid enough to live on then it's time to be really honest with yourself about whether you're really any good.

No, don't give it up... it's important to enjoy yourself and do what makes you happy. Being good is great, but being happy is the most important thing.

No, I wouldn't. I AM a terrible author, but that doesn't stop me from crossing X-Files with Star Wars in my own mind. It actually helps me vent stress and relax.

No. If it makes you happy, who cares if you are any good at it or not? If being good at your hobby is important to you, maybe you should consider taking a class or attending a workshop. There are workshops for just about any interest.
