My best friend forgot my birthday. Should I be mad? He forgot last year. And this year. Wouldn't you think if he was really my best friend he could remember my birthday?

My birthday was yesterday. I was talking to him and he had mentioned how he remembered another date cause it was his ex girlfriends birthday. I even tried to help him by humming Happy Birthday while we were talking!

Yes he wished me a late Happy Birthday.
He also said he was sorry. I keep thinking he is male and they don't think about things the same way as girls do.

Yes, it is rude that your best friend doesn't and didn't even think about your birthday. Maybe you should ask him playfully one day, "Hey, so do you know my birthday?", that'll catch him on the spot and you'll probably receive the guilt from him once he may realize how neglectful he was when it came to the special occasions in his best friends life. Don't take him forgetting and neglecting to ask about your birthday too seriously though, I have a guy who's my best friend and sometimes he forgets when exactly my birthday is.

You have the right to be upset. I can't remember things real well, so I make myself a note like in a place I'll be sure to look, if I really don't want to forget something. Males have the capacity of remembering things, especially their best friend's birthday! At least he said Happy Birthday later rather than not saying it at all. Guys can do more than girls give them credit for, but maybe you should talk to your best friend about this - no joke. Be sure not to put him on the spot. Oh yeah, like the last guy said, think about this - WWJD?

well if he really is your best friend he shouldn't forget your b-day...did he even wish you a belated Happy Birthday??? well I hope he did...maybe you should ask him. Good luck maybe next year he won't forget... Happy Belated Birthday : )

well...personally...I think he is a bit too selfcentered and was too busy thinking about himself to remember your birthday. and tacking on the detail about wishing you a belated is all so girly...he forgot your b-day....he must pay!!!!

is he forgetfull about other things, if so maybe he just can't remember things llike that, did you remind him, write it on his calender, tell him how you feel and see what he says. best friends do grow apart.........
