It depends on your major. Don't expect to be earning 6 figures or anywhere near it straight out of college. I graduated in 1994 and it took several years and a MS degree before I got the job I wanted.

Yes it can be sometimes depending on your major which is why it is good to talk to a guidance counselor about job opportunity availability in the fields of your interest. And last but not least good grades do make a difference. Good Luck :-)

Your major is the key ingredient, even moreso than your GPA.
I am a doctoral student in psychology. Unfortunately my undergrad degrees pretty much mandated that I keep going to school (psychology and philosphy were my undergrad majors.
Then there are some of my engineer friends who got cush jobs straight out of undergrad.
Pick your major accordingly!

My husband is in college heading for his second year. This will be his last, and one of his professors has already told the class that he will more than happy to put in a good word for them if they do well enough in his class, and he told them that if they done extremely well in his class that he would even help them find a job.
You might want to talk to your professors to see if maybe they can help you.

If you mean in a particular career or at a specific salary - probably yes - you are not the only graduate and companies will pick and choose. However, if you just want a job, there are tons of them out there.

If your lead to believe a degree will automatically get you a good job, yea it's hard. Hard to change your outdated and unrealistic expectations.
Hard to see the reality of the situation, which is it's who you know, not what you know.

It really depends on what you want to do. Check with your college's career development office. Plus, heck, there's always grad school!
