I think it's because your mom isn't quite up to the realization that her baby has become a young woman who is ready to stand on her own two feet. Perhaps she is concerned for your safety out on your own.

If you have a heart to heart with her and reassure her that all the life lessons she taught you can now be put to use and that you will continue to keep your mom proud of how you have matured.

I am the only girl and I am the middle child and who got favored? The oldest and the youngest. Being the only girl was almost like being the red headed step child and to top it off, I was the middle child.

I think that parents favor the oldest, because they were the first born and for a while the only child, so they gain that bond and the oldest pretty much gets whatever they want until another one comes a long and I think that sometimes the oldest STILL gets what they want even when other children are around

As far as the youngest, they are spoiled because they are the last child and I sometimes wonder if by then the parents are tired and start to become lax.

I'm also the youngest and have 2 older brothers. It's probably because of the oldest is her first and she was probably wanting a girl really bad and you came along and you were her baby girl.

Well they have a hard time with the first one because no one has ever left before and they worry, and then they seem to except it with the middle children, because they see it as inevitable. Then with the youngest they realize that it is the last one that will live at home with them and its hard for them.

You are the youngest one and the first girl so it would be hard to let go of you because you were their first baby girl and they probably always saw you as the baby so it would be difficult for them to let you be the last to go and realize what a women you have become!

Because the oldest started it all and they remember every little thing he did, the second one is easier to raise because the parents are more relaxed but when the baby leaves home the parents have to redefine themselves and their relationship together. Remember, they haven't been "alone" since the first child was born. Your life is changing but so is theirs. It's a big scary world out there. Be glad she loves you and let her know that you love her too.

Easy. They've never had to do it before with their first kid, so it's naturally hard. The next one or two aren't so hard. But when the last one's about to leave, they realize that this is the end of the intensive period of parenting—and that's something that's hard for many parents to deal with.

because one is the first to go..and the other is the last.. both are signs you are getting older and are no longer needed as much....When you have a middle, you know you still have time with the younger one.

The middle one is always the one that learns to take care of themselves so the parents arent really worried about them.
