I feel absolute relief that's it gone off air... We live in an age where we have choice and ppl don't have to listen to other kinds of music they may not like... I'm all for tryin something new ,but with music u have to respect the fact that ppl wanna listen to what they want... Not what's shoved down their throats..

This question has been on here before in the last couple of days.

The new look Top of the Pops was cheesy, and cheap.

I think a mistake was made in trying to update it constantly, and rather than making it more modern, they should have gone retro and returned to the original formula, to the old Top of the Pops. That worked. They changed it too much, too often, recently; and they also kept changing the days it was on.
It was hard to keep track of which day it was on. They could have left it on Thurdays.
They also kept changing the presenters, so as a viewer you could never feel any 'attachment' towards a presenter.
The presenters weren't very good either, and were lacking in personality, and would have presented anything. They needed presenters with love for music, and a passion for it, and with more knowledge, and more abilities than just reading off a cue card.
All the changing around ruined it. It was as if no one could make up their minds what to do.

If you shake your bottles of Pops hard enough, the Tops will go off into the air without too much of a problem.Don't look up though, they could take your eye out!

I think its a shame. I always watched it when I was younger. Now that its out of date it is making me feel old.
I know there are other new programmes out but Top of The Pops was/ is a classic.

not much, it was inevitable as there are so many music channels now on sky and free view, totp is a bit out of date now. Who needs to wait for one day a week to hear the top tunes.
