Ok. so this guy at school says to his friend, "today i saw ... underwear. her shirt was very high, same with her underwear. she was wearing granny underpants." so i was wondering, do i wear granny underpants. ok,, i am in middle school, and i wear those hane her way white ones with the pink ribbing along the top. whats the difference between that and granny underwear? do i really wear granny underwear?

The boys called your underwear that because it is high waisted. Today, many young girls and women are looking at the Victoria's Secret models and wearing low-rise underwear, thongs and v-strings. Boys feel that ALL women should wear these things.
I actually had a guy friend of mine ask me if it was "normal" for a girl to wear "granny pants" (the underwear you mentioned). He said he saw her bend over at work and saw them. I told him to stop being a perv and every girl wears them at one point or another.
They are comfy and easy (and a must for your period). Don't listen to the boys. But if you do want cuter underwear (for yourself! No one else needs to see!) try Victoria's Secret PINK. The styles are cute and the patterns are great! You can get different textures (lace, super smooth, cotton) too. They have thongs and low-rise, but regular bikinis and hipsters that are just as cute!
Don't worry too much about it! Just be comfortable in what you wear!

First of all stop worrying about what other people think of you and as long as they are clean who cares, obviously you are not the only one wearing the type of panties you are wearing they are still on the shelf at Walmart the last time I was there. Second of all who made him panty patrol?? He must be on the verge of being gay if he knows so much about granny panties, or his last date was 90!! LOL He should stop snooping around in his grandma's drawer for one, but number two, that is one persons opinion, never let that make you feel a certain way, his opinion is nothing unless you value it. As you get older you may decide to try other designs of underware, trust some are really not that comfortable, but some girls are so dumb they continue to suffer for guys who by the way are sitting comfortable in their boxers!!!!!

no u don't. try looking 4 pants that have a higher waistline, or underwear w/ a lower waistline. But don't make urself uncomfortable just 4 the boys sake!if u find that ur own underwear is great just the way it is, then get a cami & wear it under ur shirt. then tuck it in2 ur pants and even if u bend down they cant see anything but cami!(this works great in winter especially, cause u stay warm)

Umm i doesn't really matter as long as your happy and comfortable with what your wearing...but as you get older you will hear that any underwear that is not a thong, g-string, boy-shorts, or nothing at all is granny pants. But don't worry about it. As long as your happy!

well i roll down my underwear really far down, so theres like no extra fabric up there. if they go above your underwear, id say they are granny underwear...
