If we want to reduce our dependence on foreign oil, we have to start producing more of our own. Period.
Do I like that? No.
Is it better than being under the thumb of a bunch of wackos in the Middle East? Yes.

I know someone that works there. It is very sad, I was told, to see the wildlife try to get food, and find it covered with oil. It's not a good thing. The wildlife will die if we drill there. There are too many other places to drill.
As far as I know, we can still drill in Houston and Galveston Texas.

All for it and we need to drill off-shore also. Because more oil would be on the market

here's a fact: it's a wildlife refuge, to PRESERVE land for wildlife. last time i checked, preservation didn't involve setting up huge oil pumps and laying hundreds of miles of pipeline. plus, with all the money we would have to spend to get all the gear up there, we could set up cheap and reliable alternative energy plants on the mainland.
