Does anyone believe the 2006 Tour de France champion doped up on steroids? I want to believe that he didn't.

No. This is just the french showing once again they can't admit defeat. We had this happen with Lance Armstrong last year. My opinion is that he tested positive for testosterone because he was using some sort of pain killer to elminate the pain in his hip, which he needs to have surgery on.

Isn't this the second time that an American won the Tour and has been accused of doping?

I believe he took steriods but I don't think those steriods were performance enhancing. I think the steriods were prescribed by his doctor for his hip injury. If they weren't performance enhancing they can't do anythign to him.
