best investments under $50,000?

I have $65,000 from a home equity loan, and I'd like to invest it in something, an investment property, a business of some sort. if anyone has any ideas please feel free to do so.

I too, have a small amount to invest. I still think stocks are good if you are willing to study, do your homework.

I do not currently have many interested parties in what used to be a "high risk" investment, but I wish to take a well calculated and researched pass at promoting music concerts.

Briefly, the Country Music entertainers these days are so well appearance bonded, the risk has changed. Otherwise, pre-sell on tickets can make numbers work for you to a point where you have maybe signed for $10,000 exposure, but nothing out of pocket, especially with a media partner. The end gross is staggering ! Anyone interested ? I have sure tried worse than this for $10,000 in my lifetime. [e-mail]

I think I know of a great example, but, obviously, I am not going to announce it publicly. By the way, to take out a home eq loan for purposes of speculative investing is not a good idea in the first place. Good luck.
