Used to sell refrigerators part time, a fun after work job.
The color of the refrigerator has nothing to do with it's quality, the material of the outer sheath of the 'fridge does, as does insulation and interior plastic construction.
White, beige, black are metal. The textured metal sheath is to help you not spend all day long wiping down 'fridge to keep fingerprints off of surface.
"Stainless Steel" surfaces are rarely stainless steel. Usually they are brushed aluminum, plastic or sometimes metallic paint. The quality, once again, isn't color but outer sheath material. Better ones are brushed aluminum. 95% percent of the metal types are fronter with "metal" doors, the sides and back being black paint.
This metal, unfortunately tends to get pings and dents on it.
The small things they don't tell you in the store.
Best to read up in Consumer's Reports. I will also warn you, the quality isn't the name always, but who the original manufacturer source was. Some brands are really outsourced to other manufacturers, not the name on the front.
The best way I could figure out "quality" was how much energy the 'fridge used, the less energy, the better. Also, bring any cups or things you use a lot with you. Go to store and bang and play all you want. Clients that were the funnest to sell to came back, ask every question they thought about and bought what they wanted.
You are going to live with your product for a very, very long time, so wait for season sales and pre- shop before sales season.
all is well,
manekineo

Absolutely not. You buy what you like, they usually make a certain model, and you get to pick the "siding", I chose brushed stainless steel for my Whirlpool side by side. Look at many before you decide.
