Its for the new Hummer or the smaller Hummer, I dont know which. It begins with a mom and son being pushed aside by another mom for her own son to go next on a sliding board in a park. The mom retorts to rude mom and son by saying "We were next". She quickly quips "Not anymore".

Cut to the jilted mom and son shopping for a new hummer vehicle. The ad shows her happily signing a contract, strapping in her son in backseat, and driving somewhere.

The ad ends with the message next to her "You go girl" (something to that effect). My question is are we to believe she bought that Hummer to mow down the mom and son that cut her off in the playground???

Haha..me and my husband were just talking about this last night. It is a rediculous commercial and I didn't see the point in it. We came to the same conclusion that she felt powerless and went to go buy this vehicle. How asinine. Yes, I got cut off by a brut mom on the playground and the only way I can feel better about myself, and be a good role model for my child, is to go out and spend every last dime we have to buy a Hummer, which I might point out doesn't have a higher frame than your standard SUV, so even if she was going to drive over the other mother, she'd wind up dragging her... is what we've come to in our society? What about the guy buying the tofu and the guy behind him has a ton of steaks so he goes and buys a Hummer..wouldn't it be more cost effective to just buy a STEAK?? Crazy. It's not even funny.

The idea is to take back her power by buying a Hummer. Same with the guy in the line at the grocery store who is buying all this health food. THe guy in line behind him is buying briquets and steaks, and the first guy sees a magazine with a hummer on the cover. He proceeds to go buy one, and as he's driving it off the lot, it say's something about restoring the balance of power.

Yeah, I have no idea either. Since when do we advocate that vehicles should be used as a means of revenge against annoying soccer moms. I think this is a horrible message and doesn't really make much sense. Plus, I don't think this commercial will really make moms want to go out and buy tons of hummers. They should stick to their real audience - men with too much money!

"My question is are we to believe she bought that Hummer to mow down the mom and son that cut her off in the playground??? "

Well, that's what I was HOPING, but no joy.

I think the message (and it's a stupid one) is that when life treats you unfairly, you should run out and impulsively spend HUGE freaking amounts of money on big flashy things to make yourself feel better.

It's a really dumb ad.

If she REALLY wanted to feel better, she should have spent a modest amount of money and treated herself to a nice manicure, then gone back the park with her nice, long, painted nails and jammed her thumbnail into the other cow's eye--THAT would have been a great ad.

When the other mother cut in her way she felt powerless. So she buys the hummer to make her feel powerful. It says you go girl because the hummer makes her feel in control. lol. Hope this helps!

No, not exactly, it was showing that she is not a pushover, she is "man enough" (if you will pardon the mis-application of the term) to drive a Hummer and nothing else matters (other people's opinions or views of her).
At least, that is how I viewed it.
It is , agreed, a very stupid comercial
Commercials should make you remember it for the humor, or poignancy, not be remembered for being confusing!

A stupid comercial for stupid people who want to buy an overpriced, underpowered Jeep.

The original was ok, but like a Ferrari, not for everyone.

The H2 was a gimmick to sell a crappy truck to people with too much money.

The H3 is a bigger gimmick to sell an even crappier truck to those who just could not quite afford an H2.

Just in!!!! The new H4. The size (and shape) of an S-10, but with all that squared off 'bling' you expect, and all for only twice the price!!!!

Wouldn't it have been nice if we had actually seen that part of the commercial?

There are b*tches like that all over the place who think that motherhood give them the right to bully everyone else. I would love to see such women getting their comeuppance sometime. It is frustrating that the commercial doesn't show that.

I think she bought it so she could feel superior.
