A job can not fire you because of pregnancy unless the job had something you can no longer perform. That meaning working around chemicals or being a baggage handler where you are lifting 70lb luggage all day everyday.

Hi, I hope this helps you. Not sure where you work or what state you live in or if you're required to lift over 50lbs at work-so you need to check-does your employer have an "employee assistance program" if they do they have to keep your info private while providing you advise-this is usually a program that helps people with drug addiction, etc. but they also offer on several other things, legal, medical, whatever and many people don't know this. You can also contact legal aid in your state. It maybe that you have to let them know your pregnant-i.e. if your job requires you to do heavy lifting-and I mean heavy-over 50lbs, but your medical files are none of their business. I'm an RN in Florida so I don't know what the laws are in your state-but I know your medical files are confidential in any state. And if they ask you if you're pregnant-who's to say you've never taken a pregnant test or not? Unless they're picking up the tab for your pregnancy-and you're doing your job-why is it their business-just tell ask them "Why do you ask?" or embarrass them by saying "No, I'm just fat!" ROFLOL. Sorry you're having such a hard time.

No that is illegal to fire someone for a pregnancy. Now if you have a medical condition that prevents you from doing your job, they can move you to another one or suspend you until after you deliver, but I don't think that you can be fired. I would go to the state that live in and find out what the laws are for medical conditions. The one thing that I do know is that insurance companies can't deny coverage to a women now because of pregnancy. They don't have to cover your doctors or hospital visits but they do have to cover you for anything else. It is not considered a pre-existing condition anymore so I wouldn't think that a company can let you go because of it. Go to the Department of Labor and get them to tell you.

First of all, you are pregnANT not pregnATE. If you really think you are being laid off because you're pregnant you need to get a lawyer, that's illegal. You don't have to tell your employer anything about your health, but they'll probably figure it out when you get huge and then ask for two months off. Soooo get a lawyer. And some condoms.

Have you talked to a lawyer about your wrongful trermination? It might be worth it to at least get an opinion. Usually if you weren't there for very long (less than 3 months) I think they can terminate you for whatever reason. I would probably wait a while and see if they bring it up. I don't really think you need to bring it up, it'll become obvious soon enough.
