My friend met this guy and they had a thing. He told her 3x's(right in front of me) that he was not married. Then she found out he was, and took all his personal belongins(clothes, toiletries, etc.,) from his motel and burned em in a bonfire. We convinced her to be satisfied with the destroying of his personal property(which is illegal) and not to call his wife and tell her. She agreed. Now the guy is trying to press charges and made up lame story to explain situation to wife. She did not burn or take anything of significant value

There is always signs that a man is taken or married.... if she didn't want to see the red flags is another thing. Helloooo he was taking her to a "motel"!! But anyways what ever happened, happened. I think she should tell his wife, teach him a lessen. Does she have any proof that they where together? If he is going serious with the charges, its best for her to confess and say she did it because she found out that he was married.. I think the judge will give her a slap on the wrist. Let this also teach a lesson to your friend as well.

If the guy presses charges tell him to be prepared to explain to his wife why he was in a motel with another woman.
Hopefully your friend will learn that burning another persons property is NOT the mature way to punish someone.

She did commit a crime. So he can press charges. But affairs aren't nice and he is not telling the truth (big suprise). He has the right to press charges. Sure she was mad but burning his stuff is childish and she has to deal with the consequinces of her choices. Personally I would get as far away from the situation as possible, the last thing I would want to do is cause more problems.

The guy is a scum bag... he deserved to have his things burned. He's lucky that's the only thing she "destroyed". Unfortunately, your friend will get in trouble for the ceremonial bonfire, but if I were her, I'd take whatever punishment with her head held high and when it's all over, you should take her and this guys poor wife out for a drink. I wouldn't have been so nice...

It's not a question of who is more wrong. Yes the man who lied and was really married is quite a liar, but your friend for burning his possessions was stooping down to his low level and should've been more mature about it by giving his stuff back orm just taking off. I do think the wife has a right to know about her husband cheating on her also.

Your friend is going to have this problem again. How quickly we surrender our body to someone we do not know well and beat our breast with anger when it does not work out.It doesn't matter who is more wrong. What matters is that your friend should not be in this situation again.

Take time to know a person before you make love and your relationships will be more rewarding. As a man believes ,"easy come, easy go" any great prize is worth waiting for. Isn't your friend worth IT?

If she didn't burn or do anything at all, then she has nothing to worry about and shouldn't give a care if he tries to press charges. Allow the police or judge to decide who's wrong.

If your husband was cheating on you, wouldnt you want to know, go ahead let him press charges, tell your girlfriend she is going to press charges against him for emotional distress, lets see him explain his way out of that one to his wife, he's a pig and will get what he deserves.

I think that when she first found out he was married that she should have just told the wife. You are a witness that he said right infront of you that he wasnt married. You should beable to use that in court

Well my friend the both of them were wrong. But under the circumstances given I will say that the woman was right in a way because she was told a lie. On the other hand you don't fight fire with fire.
