my phone is broken and i wondered if i could go buy a "go phone" and then like take my sim card out of my phone and put it in the go phone and use the go phone with my contract.

this sounds kinda confusing.

Yes,I had to do that, too. Just take the sim card out of the back, under the battery, and replace it with the new one. Then get a phone card for your go phone, and call the number on the back of the card, and add the money to the account. Mine gave me problems because it wouldn't tell me the number, you'll hcan save a new one,so,do what I did,and just call someone from it,and ask them what the number shows up as in caller id,then you can add the money to the account

Yes it does, buy the pay as you go phone dont even acivate it(Walmart, anywhere but cingular stores i guess, sometime they dont let you) and take the sim from the broken Cingular one put it on the prepay, tada done.

This makes the difference of 100s some dollars in between the Go phone or retail price of the same mode.

Dont activate the prepay, you dont need too.

Before you do anything, talk to someone at Cingular about this.
