Go to a site called Alldatapro.com They might have a free section there where you can check on recalls, and or TSB's, which are tech service bulletins. Or try a forum search for your type of car.

Call your local dealer for your make of vehicle. Service dept. will run your VIN to see if there are any recalls and if they have been taken care of.
