My local shop, Meisner's is clearing out all Pfaff products. I looked on the web and several other shops are having a clearance on Pfaff too. However, the newest news I can find on Pfaff is that they were bought by Viking in 2000 after being bought by near-bankruptcy Singer in the 90s.
So, what gives now? I really like the product, but don't want to buy another if they're going under.

When I asked Meisner's they told me that the Pfaff isn't as user friendly, so that's why they are phasing them out. I find that incredibly hard to believe, because mine is so super easy to use!
When I was doing some research online about the coverlocks, I found some stores that were clearing out their Pfaffs too, so it made me paranoid. Hopefully that's all it is and no news is good news!

You could find out by asking a sales person. Here is the email address and phone number of Meissner's:

I haven't seen them disappearing. I could be that your supplier
has lost their exclusive contracts and are simply not re-ordering.

Here is a link to the USA Pfaff site.
