Last year they did a show over in England, London I think and they said something about George Bush and the war we are having with Iran. They were not in favor of the president and alot of Republicans and Americans got really upset with them. Many radio stations even stopped playing their music. This is their first CD out since then. Not Ready to Make nice is them saying they are not going to back down on their beliefs and they are not going to be bullied. I like that part where is says "she gets a phone call saying shut up and sing" people don't want them to be political they want them to be pretty and sing great songs. I think the video is great and more power to them!!

Hey-- if you're from the place the Dixie Chicks are criticizing, it's powerful. They've pretty much been banned from this city. It's so dark, too. You realize people were forgiving them until they started the whole diss-your-own-home-town-in-a-song thing! I personally agreed with what Natalie Maines was saying in the first place, but now that they're writing/singing these songs against their home-town I really don't care for them any more! I will ALWAYS love their music, though!

I saw an interview with them about it and I think it has to do with their statement about Bush being from Texas and all the people getting huffy about it, they're not ready to apologize over the fact that they think Bush is a moron, at least that's what I got out of the whole thing.
It shows the singer being held down in parts of the video, like the people who wanted to ban their music were trying to hold her down, that sort of thing.

Well, for one, it's not very new. Its been out since spring. Didn't you hear about the controversy with them? In Britain, the lead singer knocked George Dubbya and everyone was all up in arms, burning their CD's and everything. Read the article below.

in line with risk they're attempting...yet returned...to retract their anti-administration comments. They "dis" their followers then act shocked while their followers turn their backs on them. Their final comments approximately their conservative followers have been extraordinarily outrageous. instead of attempting to determine the Chicks out, why do no longer you merely change to a clean team that's no longer so shallow.

They are very anti Bush and they have had a lot of negative publicity but are unrepentant about their hatred of Bush and his policies, hence the lyrics of their song.
