Not necessarily. Some minorities can understand what it's like to be one and can be more aware and be a nicer person.
Other people just get so fed up with what happens to them daily that they let it affect them and they are not nice people.
Let's hope more people are like the first, I know I try to be like that as much as possible.

Being a minority doesn't make you nicer. You oviously get treated worst. It makes you a stronger person dealing with the issues of an ignorant country.

im a minority and i must say that its hard to be nice when people treat you like crap and say ignorant things (including alot of the people that have answered this questions).
the thing that being a minority does is make you more sympathetic towards other minorites and groups that are the butt of all jokes. people's thought process is based on "this is america. you should be american. you should speak english...etc etc". they dont realize that in some areas of this country, "being american" is the minority because there are so many immigrants that come to this country.
people need to appreciate others' cultures and they need to understand that this country (the united states) was created because of immigration!! people dont realize that the true "americans" are the native americans who lived on this land before anyone from any other country came here...and now they are themselves considered a minority. its ironic.
be nice to immigrants and people of other cultures! maybe this way people will stop hating the united states.

Nope. I've come to realise that a lot of people who are minorities are not actually that nice because they expect to be victimised in some way and when it doesn't happen they look for it where it does not exist.

When you're the minority, you know that there is a majority of people out there willing to kick your @$$ if you dont watch what you say and do. Thus you are nice to everyone in order to avoid an @$$ whoping.

IT is your sense of doing things right which makes a person nicer, not your racial status.

Nope, just gives you more excuses for your own personal failures. Reasons to blame them on other people and not take responsibility for yourself. It means you have a reason to complain and then try the race card.
