I am looking for a sound card for my desktop computer between $50 and $100 that will be hooked up to my yamaha stereo receiver with JBL Northridge speakers. I have read that creative sound cards make crackling and static noises when hooked up to stereos. I am interested in the M audio 5.1 surround sound card. I was just looking for suggestion on soundcards and advice about creative and m audio sound cards. If you know of better ones for the same price range please let me know. The sound card will be mainly used for music, video games, and some DVD's.

Creative basically is a monopoly in terms of soundcards today. I'd say go for the Creative Soundblaster Audigy4 7.1, it's your best bet in that price range, and it's not too bad at all.
