No, however the term Royal pain comes from medieval times. Kings would have well over a thousand people directly employed by them. (Henry VIII had over fifteen thousand, according to National Geographic) These people were thus dubbed with the title of "Royal," such as a Royal jester or Royal cook. One such position was the Royal pain. Their job was to infiltrate the enemy's castle and wreak havoc. Havoc ranged from stealing minor items to inserting poison into food. The Royal pain would of course have to be brave, for if they were caught they would be executed. In any case, now you know, and have some facts to use to amaze your friends.
