This place is being paved over while environmental concerns are being ignored, housing costs and insurance (if a company even wants to risk insuring in Florida) are shooting through the roof, and the already low wages are stagnant. Man, I say the future is that it will be as expensive and overcrowded as California. I give it 20 years.

I agree. We just moved from there, and it is growing like heck! People are all over trying to find a place to live, although the hurricanes did slow things down a bit, they picked up the next month. Yea FL is definetley a to-be California. And the housing costs are going way up. If we would've held our house a few more years, we coudlv'e made a few more hundred thousand.

Global warming will take out Florida, or most of it, in the forseeable future. Too bad you guys voted for it. Oh wait a minute, you didn't! That was the Supreme Court. Too late now. Sorry.

I live in Daytona Beach! Supposedly it will be underwater in 200 years (that's what the museum of arts and sciences says)!!! But you are right! Our state bird is now the crane (as in the construction cranes that are up and down the coast building the condos)...it's sad! It really is!

As global warming continues there will more and more powerful storms. If I lived in FL, I would move. Its a shame though I feel sorry for the natural beauty and animals there too.
