i tried to acess my myspace account and it said it was unavailable due to special maintenance. does that mean they are going to delete my account?

It means myspace is down due to the power outages in California. MySpace servers are all located in Silicone Valley of California, The heat wave has been destroying the transformer in the electric sub-stations.
Power is being restored to Emergency facilities and homes first. Over 80 people have been found dead due to heat because of the lack of electricity and AC.
Although you, probably, think you'll die without access to your MySpace site, trust me, the Electric Companies do not feel the same. Your MySpace servers will be the last to get power restored.
There is a benifit to reading Newspapers, Watching News on TV and listening to news on radio. Also many news sites on the net have covered this.

It means myspace sucks. I have had so many problems with that site over the last week or two. I think there are just so many people on it, putting crazy stuff on their site that it just freaks it out!
